The White House said US President Donald Trump would visit the Federal Reserve on Thursday and increased his print campaign against President Jerome Powell.

This is the first time an American president to make an official trip to the central bank for the first time in about twenty years.

The American presidents traditionally respected the independence of the central bank, which was isolated from the political whims of elected authorities both in law and practice.

Trump’s visit is a remarkable symbolic movement on this independence and reveals criticism when Powell refuses to drop interest rates to the president’s gate.

The White House said that on Wednesday, Trump will visit the Federal Reserve at 16:00 on Thursday.
