Biker misbehaved with car driver over road rage held

Commercial Street police on Tuesday arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly harassing and mistreating a motorist following a road rage incident.

Based on the complaint, police arrested the accused Syed Sameer, a resident of Yarab Nagar in Banashankari. Police said Sameer was working as a daily wage labourer.

According to police, around 1.30 pm on January 26, Sameer, who was riding a scooter near Halasuru Road Junction, bypassed the signal and approached the car driven by Praveen MN, 43, of Halasuru.

When Praveen advised him to drive carefully, Sameer replied, “It’s my vehicle, my road, I drive the way I want.”

When Praveen asked him to repeat the same thing in front of the police, Sameer reportedly said, “Who is the police? Why should I come? Who are you to ask?”

When Praveen walked away, Sameer allegedly followed him and ambushed his car near Manipal Center and started harassing him and assaulting him.

The video of the attack captured by Praveen went viral on social media. Police later arrested Sameer, who apologized for his behavior in a video released later.
