Trump tariffs face 63% disapproval in new Fox News poll survey results

Even before the Supreme Court dealt a blow to the President Donald Trump’s Despite his far-reaching trade policy, Americans were already voicing strong disapproval in national polls of his handling of tariffs.
The Fox News poll, conducted between Jan. 23 and 26, found that 63% of registered voters disapproved of Trump’s imposition of tariffs, while 37% approved of a 26-point deficit that ranked trade among the weakest-performing issues.
The results highlight resistance to management’s aggressive trading strategy. The White House has promoted tariffs as both an economic lever and a source of federal revenue, but polling shows that argument does not resonate with many voters.

This administration has repeatedly argued that tariff revenues could finance domestic priorities, such as lowering the nation’s tax revenues. 38 trillion dollars of debt and potentially a delivery $2,000 dividend Check Americans.
And collections increased.
Tariff revenues have increased by more than 300% since Trump returned to office. In January alone, customs duties increased by 275% compared to the previous year, reaching 30.4 billion dollars. So far this fiscal year, revenue has reached $132.6 billion.

However, despite unexpected developments, public opinion did not follow the same route.
Disapproval extends beyond trade. The poll found 59 percent disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy and 65 percent disapprove of his handling of inflation, economic concerns that could shape views on tariff policy.
Taken together, the figures suggest that even before recent legislative developments, the president’s trade agenda was facing significant public disapproval, raising questions about his political durability as cost-of-living concerns persist.
