Naredco hosted the 13th International Conference on Innovative Concrete Pavement Technology in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The National Real Estate Development Council (Naredco) kicked off its two-day 13th international conference on concrete block paving here on Thursday, bringing together industry professionals, researchers, consultants, suppliers and public officials. The event, hosted by the Paving Stone and Block Manufacturers Association (PBMA), focuses on information exchange on concrete and split paving technologies.

Experts from Germany, Austria, UK, Canada, USA, South Africa and Uruguay will showcase solutions, present discussions, research papers and real-world case studies. Key themes include long-term performance, sustainability and applications such as heavy-duty pavements, permeable urban drainage, rail infrastructure and high-performance pavements using PCE technology, recycling and global standards.

K. Sreedhar Reddy, president, Naredco Telangana, said sustainable urban drainage requires permeable pavements with common stabilizers that maintain permeability and stability, even for airstrips that balance water infiltration and safety.

Urban heat islands pose another challenge. Reddy added that High Solar Reflectance Index roof tiles made from precast concrete reduce surface temperatures, increase energy efficiency and are compatible with green building and “Cool Roof” policies.

Railway platforms face increasing public transport demands that require durable, non-slip materials. Prefabricated pavers through vacuum wet press technology offer superior flexural strength, low water absorption and long life, proven by long-term studies at busy Indian stations.
