Imran Khan Killed By Pakistan Army In Adiala Jail? Social Media Abuzz As His Sister, PTI Workers Demand Release | World News

Is Imran Khan Dead? Rumors that former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan was assassinated in Rawalpindi’s high-security Adiala Jail sparked outrage and confusion in Pakistan on Tuesday night. Disturbing allegations emerged on social media that the Pakistan Army, led by Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, had ordered Khan’s murder in prison.
The claims stemmed from several unverified accounts, including one account identifying itself as “Ministry of State Balochistan” and claiming that Khan was “killed in custody” and his body was removed from the facility. Some Afghan media platforms also amplified the rumor by citing unnamed “sources.” However, no credible or official confirmation has been issued by the Pakistani government, prison authorities or the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party regarding the allegations.

Despite the lack of verification, panic spread quickly online, fueled by Khan’s prolonged incommunicado detention. Khan has been in jail since August 2023 after being convicted in several cases seen by his supporters as politically motivated. PTI leaders have repeatedly expressed concerns about his safety and limited access to legal counsel and family members.
Sisters Denied Entry, Claim Police Brutality
As rumors grew, Khan’s sisters Noreen Khan, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan rushed to Adiala Jail late on Tuesday to find evidence of Khan’s survival. They alleged that police outside the facility beat and assaulted them as well as many PTI supporters who had gathered peacefully to demand information. Videos of the clash circulating online show chaotic scenes with protesters chanting slogans against the military establishment.
PTI workers staged a midnight demonstration, accusing officials of hiding Khan’s condition. In the statement made by the party, it was stated that “He has not been allowed to meet with any family members for more than three weeks” and described the situation as “deeply worrying”.
Political Leaders Also Blocked
Even senior political figures sympathetic to Khan were reportedly denied visiting rights. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, a strong supporter of Khan, allegedly made seven unsuccessful attempts to meet the former prime minister. PTI claims that prison decisions are made by the military rather than civilian authorities.
‘Where is Imran Khna?’
Although the assassination rumors remain unfounded, they underscore the growing mistrust between the public and Pakistan’s powerful security apparatus. The lack of transparency regarding Khan’s health, legal rights and conditions of detention has led to widespread speculation and increased unrest among his supporters.
PTI demanded proof of life and called on international human rights groups to intervene. As tensions rise across the country, many Pakistanis are asking the same question that now dominates global social media: Where is Imran Khan and why is Pakistan refusing to show him?
