BJP’s Chandrasekhar Seeks Probe Into ‘Overseas’ Volunteers at NEET Protests

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Monday alleged that the recent protests over NEET have gone beyond voicing genuine concerns of students and alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and “other interests” are trying to create “anarchy and violence”.

In his post, the colonel said, “Flight tickets, food, accommodation… all expenses are covered by the ‘sponsor’. They were told to continue until the protests end.”

“It may have started with the publication of students’ genuine grievances,” said Chandrasekhar.

“But it is 100% clear that @RahulGandhi and other vested interests are doing everything possible to create anarchy and violence. These troublemakers are not students who want to discuss their future, but political goons organized to create chaos,” he said.

Calling it “a wake-up call for all of us”, Chandrasekhar added that “our eyes are wide open”.

The BJP leader also demanded an inquiry into the role of “overseas” volunteers in the agitation that resulted in the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

“I hope all of these ‘overseas’ volunteers are examined and investigated,” he said.

Questioning the alleged sponsorship, the Colonel added: “What do migrant workers in Dubai have to do with students protesting for NEET in India? Why this sponsored involvement?”

The allegations made by Chandrasekhar and the Colonel could not be independently verified and the Congress did not react to the allegations.
