Bobby J. Brown, ‘The Wire’ actor, dies at 62 in Maryland barn fire

“The Wire” star Bobby J. Brown has died, Fox News Digital has confirmed. He was 62 years old.
Brown’s talent agent, Dr. Albert Bramante shared a statement after the sudden death of his client.
The statement began: “Bobby J. Brown was a uniquely gifted actor and a man of great character. From his deep roots as a Gold Glove champion to his impressive performances on the big screen, Bobby brought unmistakable authenticity to everything he did.”

Bramante’s statement concluded: “He was a dedicated professional and it was a true pleasure to represent him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
A press release obtained by Fox News Digital stated that firefighters reported a trapped barn fire just after 10 p.m. on Feb. 26.
St. “Firefighters arrived to find a 15-by-100-foot barn almost entirely engulfed in fire. Family members at the scene confirmed one person was still inside the structure. Once the fire was under control, firefighters located a deceased male victim in the barn,” the St. Mary’s County press release said.

The press release stated that the man was trying to start a vehicle in the barn. St. St. Mary’s County said the victim contacted his wife and asked for a fire extinguisher, but when he got out the fire had engulfed the barn.
The victim’s wife, who suffered burns on her hands, was taken to the hospital. Brown’s name was not included in the press release.
Accordingly TMZ, Brown died in a barn fire in Maryland on Tuesday. Brown’s daughter told the press that her father died of smoke inhalation.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
Maryland’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner told TMZ that Brown’s cause of death was determined to be “extensive thermal injury and smoke inhalation.” According to the outlet, the cause of death was also stated to be an accident.

TMZ reported that Brown entered the barn to start a vehicle. He called a family member and asked for a fire extinguisher, but when they arrived the barn was in flames. TMZ shared that Brown’s wife suffered “severe burns” while trying to save him.

Brown’s breakout role was Officer Bobby Brown in “The Wire.” He also appeared in the movies “Law & Order: SVU” and “We Own This City.”
The star is survived by his wife and two daughters.
