Body found in search for young man who disappeared at Sunshine Coast beach

An 18-year-old swimmer who disappeared while swimming at a Sunshine Coast beach two days ago has been found dead.

The young man entered the water at Buddina Beach around 4.15pm on Wednesday, but disappeared soon after.

A massive search was launched, including jet skis, police divers and the coast guard.

But the rough surf conditions were tough.

On Friday, police said in a statement that the man’s body was found around 6 p.m.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
