Three young people accused of killing a homeless man, reportedly laughed while fleeing his body on the street. 17 -year -old Connor and 14 -year -old Brandon Doran and his 14 -year -old friends Simon Evans attacked 53 -year -old Kevin Bennett while sleeping outside a supermarket in Liverpool. Connor, who is defined as the “leader of the package”, said Simon “I bet I didn’t do it.” Simon later said: “I started to kick him, I booked him, and now he’s dead.” Brandon was watching during the brutal fight.
All three rejected the murder, but he was found guilty in 2013 after a four -week hearing at Liverpool Crown Court. Connor was sentenced to at least 12 years in prison, Simon is at least eight years and Brandon six years. Liverpool’s recorder Judge Clement Goldstone KC, “I think this society desperately a sad reflection, each of you is just a party to serious violence for him.”
Kevin died in the hospital due to blood poisoning from an infection six days after the attack, causing his organs to fail. It was defined as “vulnerable” and “heavy drinking”.
