Body of man found in park wheelie bin after suspected hit-and-run incident

Police have confirmed that the body of a man was found in a wheelie bin in a park in Coventry.
A member of the public found the unidentified man, believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, at Cash’s Park off Daimler Road around 5pm on Friday.
West Midlands Police believe the man may have been hit by a vehicle before being taken to the park.
His body was found in Coventry City Council’s green-lidded wheelie bin.
Officers are working with the council to find out where the bin was moved.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Poole said: “We keep an open mind but believe this man was hit by a vehicle and then taken to the park.
“I would like to hear urgently from anyone who believes they may have hit someone in their car yesterday, or who noticed a change in behavior of someone they know who was driving, or who noticed damage to a vehicle.
“It is vital that we track down that person as quickly as possible so we can tell what happened.
“If anyone in the area has noticed their green lidded wheelie bin being stolen, I would like to hear from them too.”
