Residents were told to close their doors and windows last night after a fire in the center of Bournemouth.

The three firefighters ran to Bournemouth International Center in Exeter Road after reports of a fire in the popular event venue. Firefighters used an air ladder platform to fight the flames believed to have started at 19.30.

The smoke entered the building, but there was no incident at that time. The center is one of the biggest places for conferences, exhibitions, entertainment and events in Southern England with easy access to the beach.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but for more details, Dorset and Wiltshire firefighters and recovery service were contacted. Firefighters continued to work at the scene until the early hours of Tuesday.
