Boy, 14, killed after being hit by car in Diamond Creek
A 14-year-old boy died after being hit by a four-wheel drive vehicle while riding his electric bike in Melbourne’s north-east.
Police were called to Chute Street in Diamond Creek around 10pm on Monday evening, where they found the teenager suffering serious injuries. The person who was treated died at the scene.
The driver, a 22-year-old from Eltham North, was interviewed and released pending further investigation.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.

A coroner in Victoria recommended registering e-bikes following the death of a cyclist in July.
There is no suggestion that the electric bike involved in Monday’s collision was illegal.
