Trump demands play-by-play review of brutal ICE killing as he claims victim ‘ran over’ armed agent
President Donald Trump insists that Renee Good, 37, who was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis, ran over the agent.
“He acted terribly,” Trump told the New York Times in an extensive sit-down interview; This was his second conversation this week with the outlet he has repeatedly criticized. He also spoke to a Times reporter shortly after ordering U.S. special forces into Venezuela.
‘And then he crushed it. He didn’t try to crush her. He crushed it,” Trump said.
When the Times pressed the president that video of the incident was unclear and perhaps too blurry to draw early conclusions, Trump demanded to watch the tape again.
“I’m going to play the tape now,” he told the four reporters sitting with him in the Oval Office.
Natalie Harp, one of Trump’s closest aides, quickly opened the clip on her laptop to show reporters her point.
Grainy video appeared on the screen, spreading from a distance like viral wildfire, showing the burgundy Honda Pilot speeding toward an ICE agent standing in front of the hood before the officer opened fire on Good, ultimately killing him.
“This was a very bad situation,” Trump said.

The President stated that the entire situation was unfortunate.
‘I want to see no one get shot,’ he said. ‘I don’t want to see anyone screaming and trying to run over the cops either.’
The president did not appear to be deterred, as the Times repeatedly argued that the tape was too vague to clearly indicate which side was at fault.
“This is a terrible scene,” the president said after watching the video. ‘I think it’s terrible to watch. ‘No, I hate to see this.’
The same day, the president released a statement saying that the dead driver appeared to be at fault in the tragedy.
“The woman driving was very erratic, obstructing and resisting, and then violently, willfully and viciously ran over the ICE Officer who appeared to have shot her in self-defense,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Good’s actions after he “weaponized” his car against the agent amounted to “domestic terrorism.”
Trump’s border czar Tom Homan gave a more measured response and stated that he would wait until the investigation is concluded to evaluate the issue.

“Let the investigation play out,” Homan told CBS News, adding: “Hold people accountable based on the investigation.”
Protests have gripped Minneapolis since the horrific incident, with law enforcement being chased and pelted with snowballs by activists.
The president has yet to address the protests, although a news conference is planned for Thursday. Vice President JD Vance, who defended the ICE agent online, will take the podium with Karoline Leavitt.
