Boy George has reportedly made a surprise bid for Eurovision 2026 after teaming up with an Italian singer to compete.

The 64-year-old Culture Club soloist will represent San Marino at the competition to be held in May.

The 70th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Vienna, Austria, after JJ won the Grand Final in Basel, Switzerland with the song Wasted Love.

Boy George is said to have collaborated with singer Senhit on his song Superstar after previously representing San Marino in 2021.

The singer finished 22nd in his last attempt at victory at Eurovision but insiders hope a ‘big name’ like Boy George can help them achieve victory.

A source said: ‘The San Marino team are thrilled they have managed to get Boy George to come forward. ‘This is quite a coup.’

They added Daily Star: ‘It would be an incredible moment to have such a big name represent them. It would be a huge moment for San Marino.’

The Daily Mail has contacted Boy George’s rep for comment.

The annual competition will celebrate its 70th anniversary later this year, but has found itself in the middle of its ‘most serious crisis ever’ following an escalating boycott by many countries.

Last week, Britain’s Eurovision action was announced following claims that the previous representative was sacked by bosses after the BBC discovered past ‘unacceptable comments and behaviour’.

Electronic act LOOK MOM NO COMPUTER will take to the stage in Vienna in May with the aim of winning the votes of Europe.

After his entry was announced on BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show, LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER said it was ‘crazy’ to be part of Eurovision after being a fan of the contest for many years.

Presenter Scott Mills said that the competition song was not ‘ready’ yet, but that the song would be played for the first time on his show in the coming weeks.

Last month, it was reported that an artist had been lined up to represent England by BBC bosses but was sacked after comments he had previously made online were revealed during routine background checks.

LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER started his career in 2014 as Sam Battle, the lead singer of the indie rock band ZIBRA.

The band performed at Glastonbury for BBC Introducing in 2015 and have since embarked on a solo career that thrives on their passion for electronic and synth sounds.

BBC Entertainment Director Kalpna Patel-Knight said: ‘We are thrilled to have LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER represent the UK at Eurovision in Vienna in 2026. His bold vision, unique voice and electric performance style make him a truly unforgettable artist.
