The Brazilian model, whose photo was shown by Rahul Gandhi, reacted to the viral controversy, claiming that she had voted 22 times in Haryana. The model, identified as Larissa Nery, expressed her satisfaction with the photo taken during the election campaign in India. In a video shared on Instagram, Larissa said she received a call from a reporter and was happy that her old photo was used in the brawl.
“Friends, I will tell you a gossip, you will laugh a lot. I will tell the gossip. Friends, they are using an old photo of me. It is an old photo, okay? I look very young in the photo; I must be 20-18 years old. They are using my photo to do this… I don’t know if this is an election, it is something you have to vote for in India. They show me as Indian. Can you believe it, guys, what kind of madness are we going through? Then a reporter called me, called the hall where I work, wanted to do an interview, and I did not answer… I am the man. “He found my Instagram, he messaged me on Instagram so that a friend of mine from another city could send me a photo,” he said in the video.

Notably, Rahul Gandhi claimed that Larissa’s photo appeared 22 times in the electoral rolls with different names like Sweety, Seema and Saraswati. However, one voter named Poonam, who was among the 22 names with Larissa’s photo, was tracked by media outlets and showed her voter ID card with the correct name and photo. He also claimed that he voted in the Haryana polls.
The BJP has now turned its gun on the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of deliberately sharing fake voter list to tarnish the image of the ECI.
