Bristol Patriots protest LIVE: Police form human wall | UK | News

Mounted police clashed with anti-racism protesters during the “Bristol Patriots” Saturday afternoon. The demonstration started at 12.15 with approximately 40 people gathering at the Mausoleum in the city. Hundreds of counter-protesters also gathered as part of the anti-racist-anti-fascist coalition, chanting slogans as other groups marched around Broadmead.

There was a heavy police presence to escort the crowd, resulting in officers blocking Union Street with pickup trucks, rows of officers and officers on horseback around 12.30pm. Officers were seen pushing and shoving the group as violence broke out as police attempted to stop counter-protesters and allow another group to pass into the Haymarket.
