British Gas boss says energy bills rise ‘inescapable’ if prices stay high

The debate over ways to mitigate energy price rises comes after the government’s cost of living tsar Lord Walker, who is also the chief executive of the Icelandic supermarket chain, suggested in the Sunday Times that the profits of energy companies and petrol stations should be temporarily capped as oil prices soar.
