Ohio police seek suspect in fatal shooting of dentist and his wife

Police in Columbus, Ohio, are asking for the public’s help as they search for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a dentist and his wife on the city’s Near East Side.
According to a statement from the Columbus Division of Police, officers were dispatched for a welfare check just after 10 a.m. on Dec. 30. When they arrived, they found two adults, identified as Spencer Tepe and Monique Tepe, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Police said the two victims died at the scene.
Investigators said no weapons were found at the scene and there was no sign of forced entry. Two children, a 1-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, were found uninjured in the house.
When Spencer Tepe did not come to a dental clinic in Athens and could not be reached, his colleagues called 911. CBS affiliate WBNS reported.

Investigators are calling now Video, photographs or other digital evidence that may show suspicious persons or vehicles in the area during the shooting.
They are particularly interested in images taken from the surrounding neighborhood between midnight and 9 a.m. on December 30. The area of interest is bounded by Summit Street on the east, North Grant Street on the west, East 7th Street on the south, and East 11th Street on the north.
Police said information can be provided anonymously.
In a statement released by the family, their loved ones described Spencer and Monique Tepe as devoted parents and partners whose lives focused on service, family and community.
“We are heartbroken beyond words,” the statement said. “While no outcome can make up for this loss, our family is committed to seeing this tragedy brought to full and fair justice and to honor Spencer and Monique by protecting the future of the children they loved so much.”
