British tourist and her friend are killed by charging elephant during safari trip

Police said he was killed by an old British tourist and his friend from New Zealand.
Eastern Provincial Police Commissioner Robertson Mweemba said that a 68 -year -old and 67 -year -old victims were attacked by a woman elephant with a calf in the South Luangwa National Park.
Safari guides with the group fired an desperate attempt to prevent women from charging.
The elephant was shot and injured by guns, but the guides could not prevent the attack, and both women died at the scene.
Female elephants protect their calves very much and can respond to what they perceive as a threat.
Last year, two American tourists were killed in separate matches with elephants in different parts of Zambia.
In both cases, tourists were old women, and when they were attacked, they were in a safari vehicle.
Juliana Gle Tourou, a 64 -year -old of New Mexico, was killed by a elephant during a safari driving in Zambia on June 19 last year.

The attack came after stopping near the Maramba Culture Bridge in Livingstone due to the traffic caused by a herd of the group and leaving the vehicle that violated the national park arrangements.
In a separate incident, 79 -year -old Gail Mattson of Minnesota was killed during a game driving in Zambia’s Kafue National Park.
The animal wages towards the truck in which it was in and turned it up, killed Mattson and injured five people.
