Brits stuck in boring daily habits as Dr Pepper dares the nation to shake up life

While new research reveals how predictable the country has become, the British are officially at an impasse.

A study commissioned by Dr Pepper to launch its new Cream Swirl flavor shows that millions of people live on autopilot, from drinking tea from the same mug every day to repeating the same playlist without fail.

A third of people refuse to change glasses, 29% listen to the same songs and four in ten go to the same supermarket every week.

Many buy the same brands, cook the same meals, and even eat the same lunch over and over again. And it doesn’t end there. More than a quarter go to familiar restaurants, 22% use the same route to work, and 21% even have their favorite gas stove on the stove.

Home life isn’t much more adventurous. Almost half of Brits have a special spot on the sofa, with 34% watching the same shows over and over and 25% ordering the same meal. For nearly one in five people, every weekend looks exactly the same.

To shake things up, Dr Pepper is launching Dr Darey Dare Deck, a card game designed to encourage people to try something new. Mascot Dr Darey has teamed up with Dick, Dom and Louie Spence to challenge Brits to break their routine with dares ranging from small acts of spontaneity to bold moves like serenading a stranger. Fans can even win a bundle by commenting on Dr Pepper’s TikTok.

Dick and Dom said: “We’ve spent years entertaining people and making them laugh… Dr Darey is great fun, just what we love and we’re excited for everyone to pick up a card, take a leap and maybe even find a new favorite fizzy drink!”

Louie Spence added: “Dr Darey’s goal is to embrace that inner glow and say ‘yes’ to some fun. So Dare Cream and give it a try!”

Research shows Brits want change; 96% think it’s good to try new things and 87% want more spontaneity.

“With our new Cream Swirl flavor, we want to inspire people to dare to do things differently… It’s about celebrating those moments of discovery,” said Dr Pepper brand manager Sara Porter.
