Shivamogga police open fire, arrest rowdy-sheeter and his associates near Bhadravathi

Bhadravathi Police on Saturday (February 7, 2026) arrested a rowdy and his friends, who tried to escape after attacking the cops, after opening fire on them.

While three police officers, including two PSIs, were injured in the incident, Mubarak, nicknamed Dicchi, a rowdy player, was injured with a bullet in his right leg. According to police, Mubarak is accused of more than 15 cases, including murder, attempted murder and extortion.

Bhadravathi DySP Prakash Rathod received information that Mubarak and his associates attempted a robbery on Saturday afternoon, February 7, 2026. The police officer formed a team of his subordinates to catch the suspect. The team encountered the suspects around 7 pm near Shivani Cross in the town.

According to the police, Mubarak and his friends tried to escape by throwing stones at the officers. They even tried to attack him with a knife. Siddappa MP, PSI of Hosmane Police Station, suffered a hairline fracture in his leg during the attack. Similarly, Krishna Kumar B. Mane, PSI of Paper Town Police Station, also sustained injuries on his hand. Superintendent of Police Adarsha was also injured in his leg.

“Despite sustaining injuries in the attack, the team members continued their efforts to nab the accused. PSI’s Krishna Kumar appealed to the prime accused to surrender and also fired warning shots in the air. When the accused did not give up, he shot him in the right leg,” Shivamogga SP B. Nikhil said.

Police managed to arrest Mubarak’s associates Zaheer, Rahmat Pasha, Junaid and Manu Singh. The life of the injured police officers remains in danger. They are under treatment in Bhadravathi. According to the police, Mubarak is not in danger either.

The SP appreciated the police team for arresting the accused despite being attacked.
