‘Brutal’ two-child benefit cap affecting 1.7m children, shows data | Child benefits

According to the new figures defined by the aid organizations as “destructive and embarrassing ,, 37,000 children were influenced by the benefits limit until April and are currently living in households affected by politics.
The data published by the Ministry of Labor and Pension on Thursday show that one of nine children is now affected by politics and that 62% of the affected families are three children and 59%.
The Child Poverty Group (CPAG) described it as a “ruthless policy önemli that makes children’s lives difficult and gloomy”.
Alison Garnham, General Manager of Charity, said, “The best start to all children in life will be impossible until the government seized this brutal policy and will no longer wait for the help of the election families to help desperately,” he said.
The new data shows that 469,780 households are affected by the limit of two children in April 2025, which shows that their access to certain benefits restricted for a third or next child born in 2017 was an increase of 13,520 (3%) previous year.
There are currently 1,665,540 children living in the affected households.
Dan Paskins, General Manager of Politics, Defending and Campaigns of Save The Children UK, said the figures were “equal destructive and embarrassing.
“About 40,000 children are now punished for being only brothers,” he said. “Behind each number is the risk of food, clothing and a good home, without its own mistakes, the government to make the right one and eliminate the limit of two children or to be the first workers’ government to control a significant increase in child poverty.”
CPAG said policy has predicted that since 2017, 350,000 children have pushed poverty and 700,000 children to deeper poverty. 109 says the child is poverty by politics every day.
Lord We must say what happened: a crisis of poverty. And the government policy that creates this crisis cannot be tolerated.
“It is a moral and political obligation for two children to end the limit of benefit in the autumn budget. The people will not have any more inactivity than labor.”
The authority added that the savings brought by the two children will create much more expenses for now and even our society ”.
“The results will be felt in our schools, NHS, prisons, and one day in the same social security system that failed these children,” he said.
At the beginning of this week, the children’s commissioner said that young people lived as “Dickensian poverty levels” as the pressure ramps on the government to scrape controversial policy.
However, the education secretary Bridget Phillipson warned the government’s return on welfare cuts last week.
