Buenos Aires explosion: Huge blast destroys building as mushroom cloud fills the air | World | News

At least 15 people were hospitalized after the huge explosion that occurred in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, on Saturday. The explosion, which released dense smoke, ripped through an industrial area near Ministro Pistarini International Airport, Argentina’s main international airport.

Hundreds of flights were delayed or canceled Friday night following the explosion. Horror footage showed a massive fire raging through several factories before a giant fireball exploded upwards and shook nearby buildings at around 9pm last night. Then suddenly the industrial facility is engulfed by a violent fireball that spreads like mushrooms across the night sky.

The explosion was so powerful that doors, windows and ceilings of buildings within a three-mile radius were blown out and many people scrambled for cover as alarms sounded throughout the area.

Ezeiza Mayor Gaston Granados said: “The explosions and fires that occurred in different factories are huge. We are trying to control them.” [the fire] Let’s put it out, but we haven’t been able to do it so far.”
