Buggana Terms AP Budget A Bundle Of Lies

: YSRC slammed the State Budget 2026-27, calling it “a bundle of lies that conceals more than it reveals”.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, former finance minister Buggana Rajendranath accused the coalition government of obviously tampering with figures by changing the format of the Budget document. In this context, he stated that the government refrained from including the mandatory 10-year comparative data on fiscal discipline in the Budget, which was a clear violation.

Rajendranath pointed out that although the government boasts of a high growth rate and draws comparisons with the centre, the corresponding increase in revenue has been disproportionately low. This raises questions about the reliability of the government’s claims.

“The figures appear contrived and do not stand up to scrutiny,” he said.

Citing Jal Jeevan Mission as an example, the former finance minister claimed that while the Center spent ₹ 8,500 crore across the country, the state government had envisaged an expenditure of ₹ 10,000 crore.

Rajendranath pointed out the huge difference between last year’s revenue figures and the revised estimates and questioned how this gap would be closed in the last quarter.

He highlighted that loans have crossed ₹ 3 lakh crore, the government has not fulfilled its poll promises, disappointing farmers, students, women and the unemployed.
