Bulk-billing GP surgery opens in Hamilton Hill

A new GP practice that offers full bulk billing has opened in Hamilton Hill.

Nova Medical Center Hamilton Hill opened this month as part of the Federal Government’s $8.5 billion investment in Medicare.

Center spokesman Asim Shehzad said that they detected a shortage of general practitioner capacity in the Hamilton Hill area.

“Opening this center is our response to this need,” he said.

“By fully embracing a bulk billing model, we are supporting our community at a time when cost-of-living pressures are high and access to affordable healthcare is more important than ever.”

Fremantle MHR Josh Wilson visited the center on 17 February.

“This new medical center in Hamilton Hill is able to offer a fully bulk-billed consultancy service, thanks to the Albanian Government’s historic investment in encouraging GPs to offer bulk-billed services to anyone with a Medicare card,” he said.

“From East Fremantle to Coolbellup and Beeliar to Hamilton Hill, it is great to see more bulk billing GP clinics popping up to meet the demand for preventive care in our community.”

The Federal Government says around 96 per cent of Australians are currently within a 20-minute drive of a registered Medicare bulk billing app.
