Bullying In The Name Of Security? US Targets Iran’s Global Missile Network, Sanctions 32 Entities Across 7 Nations | World News

Washington: The United States has announced sweeping sanctions against 32 individuals and entities spanning India, Iran, China, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and two other countries, accusing them of running complex procurement networks fueling Iran’s expanding ballistic missile and drone programs.
In a statement made by State Department Deputy Spokesperson Thomas Tommy Pigott, he said these sanctions are aimed at disrupting the systems that directly support the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its military production lines.
“These networks continue Iran’s efforts to produce advanced weapons, including drones and long-range missiles,” he said.

The move came as part of Washington’s enforcement of United Nations sanctions, which were reimposed on September 27, after Tehran continued “substantial default” on its nuclear obligations. The renewed UN restrictions, first outlined in Security Council Resolutions 1737, 1747, 1803 and 1929, prohibit the transfer of weapons technologies, components and dual-use items that could contribute to Iran’s missile or nuclear objectives.
Pigott said the United States expects all UN member states to meet these obligations and prevent the movement of sensitive materials to Iran. “We call on every country to act decisively to stop Iran’s proliferation activities,” he stressed, emphasizing that the networks approved today are part of a global effort to move restricted technologies through commercial fronts and intermediaries.
The announcement marks another phase of Washington’s long-running campaign to contain Tehran’s weapons development.
The sanctions also strengthen President Trump’s National Security Presidential Memorandum-2, which instructed U.S. agencies to block Iran’s access to funds, equipment and foreign suppliers linked to asymmetric warfare capabilities, officials said.
“These measures are designed to disconnect the Revolutionary Guard from the assets and resources it needs to continue destabilizing activities across the region,” the statement said.
The US Treasury Department confirmed that the latest appointments fall under Executive Orders 13382 and 13224, which target the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and terrorist financing networks, respectively.
The State Department said Washington “will continue to use every available tool,” including sanctions against companies and individuals in third countries, to uncover and dismantle Iran’s “illegal supply network.”
Pigott said, “Iran’s missile and UAV programs remain a threat to regional security and international stability. We will not allow them to expand uncontrolled.”
