Burnley 2-2 Tottenham: Thomas Frank remains on brink at Spurs

Frank was doing his best to keep his emotions under wraps and highlight the positives after the game, but he revealed his frustration by hitting the table in front of him three times, echoing the message and actions when discussing Foster’s goal, while insisting Spurs would “never, never, never” concede a goal like Tuanzebe’s.

“You can’t say we didn’t do everything to win,” he told Match of the Day. “We just need to keep improving. The only way to do that is to calm minds, keep going and keep doing what we think is right.”

“You see the game. We are doing more than necessary to win the game. We just need to defend better in two situations. And of course we need to score another goal that could make the difference 1-0.”

And once again Frank had to rely on defenders to score, once again showing his lack of offensive strength and resources.

Only Richarlison, who has scored eight goals, has scored more goals this season than Van de Ven, who has scored seven. The Dutchman’s tally is also the highest among Premier League defenders across all competitions.

Romero has scored four goals in the Premier League this season but his latest goal was not enough to quell the usual toxicity towards Frank.
