Bus carrying TVK supporters falls off cliff in Coonoor, 21 injured

A bus carrying 21 people, who were going to Coonoor to support the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) candidate who had filed nomination in Coonoor, fell more than 30 meters from a cliff near Karumbalam in Coonoor on Saturday evening.

According to the police, the bus had gone from Namakkal to The Nilgiris to carry supporters of TVK candidate C. Thangaraj, who is contesting from Coonoor. After lunch, the bus was returning to Namakkal when the incident occurred. Police said the bus lost control and fell 30 meters down the road. In the incident, 21 people on the bus were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said the cause of the accident was being investigated.
