Siddaramaiah Defends Banu Mushtaq as Dasara Inaugurator

Vijayapura: On Saturday, Karnataka Prime Minister Siddaramaiah rejected the criticism of the state government’s decision to call the author Banu Mushtaq’s upcoming Mysuru Dasara festivals as “politically motivated”.

Mushtaq’ın Kannada’ya allegedly talking, his translated work won the Booker Award, he added. Banu As a Kannada writer, Banu Mushtaq will open Dasara. The state honored him and the translator Deepa Basti, ”he said.
On other matters, the Prime Minister said the government’s local organ elections approaching the election commission would recommend that they should be made using votes instead of EVMs to “prevent confusion and disputes”.
Siddaramaiah also announced that the state aims to establish a State Medical Faculty and Hospital in every region. “In the 2025-26 budget, it will be decided to establish a medical school in Vijayapura after Bagalkot, barbecue and Kolar,” he said. He added that the plan will follow a public-private partnership model that provides treatment in state rates.
