Cabinet Approves India’s 2030 CWG Bid

New Delhi: On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved Ahmedabad as a “ideal” venue because of “world -class stadiums, latest educational facilities and passionate sports culture”. The decision comes days later after shaking his head after the ‘expression of interest’ of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
“Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, headed by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Ministry of Nations (CWG) 2030 for the offer of the proposal for the 2030 approved the offer. He said.
“In addition, in addition to the necessary guarantees of the ministries, departments and authorities, the Gujarat Government has approved the host Cooperation Agreement (HCA) with guarantees regarding the sanction of the required grant.”
August 31 is the deadline for the event, and IOA is expected to complete the process within the next 48 hours. India last hosted CWG in 2010.
