Cabinet clears India’s submission of bid to host Commonwealth Games 2030 in Ahmedabad

The decision also paves the way for signing the host cooperation agreement (HCA) and expanding financial support to the Gujarat government if the bid is successful.
The cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the offer of the Indian Olympic Association, which contained guarantees to meet the needs of the event from active ministries and departments.
Ahmedabad fired as an ideal host
Ahmedabad is located as a city with first class sports infrastructure, modern education facilities and a live sports culture. An important emphasis is Narendra Modi Stadium, the world’s largest cricket stadium, which successfully staged the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup final.
If India’s proposal passes, athletes from 72 countries and regions are expected to bring competitions in games and coaches, technical officials, media staff and thousands of spectators.

According to the government, large -scale international participation will directly benefit local enterprises and provide significant income for the economy.
The government emphasized that hosting games will not only provide a platform for perfection, but will also provide permanent economic and social benefits.
Mega activity is expected to create business in sectors such as sports science, activity management, logistics, transportation, publishing, IT and communication, encourage tourism and open opportunities.
Games may inspire millions of young Indians to strengthen national pride and unity while professional sports.
