Call for overhaul of education, occupational licences to boost economy

In the case of hairdressers, NSW and Southern Australia, which were not valid in other states, found the requirement of the certificate III, which meant that the occupation was less immigrants than the rest of the country.

Melbourne -based hairdresser Tessa Leonard, who works in Pamela Rose Hair in Gardenvale, completed an apprenticeship in England before moving to Australia with a backpack in Asia and then to Australia.

“I just fell in love with him. I definitely find a little more relaxing here than England,” he said.

Leonard has been a hairdresser in Australia for 10 years and said that if necessary, he would push him to make a certificate III Qualification.

“He would add more costs and push my job back,” he said. “When I came here, I found it easy. It was only about filling the documents and showing the evidence of my skills and workplaces.”

Some parts of the hairdresser industry argue that reduction of undergraduate standards will affect quality and facilitate people to reduce prices offered by the halls.

However, the Commission, which proposes that NSW and SA abandoned the requirements, said that lower prices are a benefit for consumers and that the online investigations of hairdressers have a much greater impact on people in the profession than professional licenses.

In the last five years, hairdressers and personal care costs in Sydney have increased by 28.3 percent – the highest increase in any capital and over 23.9 percent general inflation.

In contrast, hairdresser costs in Melbourne increased by 20.2 percent.

Productivity Commissioner Catherine de Fontenay said governments should relax the “solid” license requirements.

“When maintaining security and quality standards, it can reduce prices for consumers and help people benefit from their skills and experiences,” he said.

In addition to overhauling vocational licenses, the Commission proposes major changes to help school teachers have basic skills that will enable their students to change careers throughout their working life.

He says that a single national online platform should be installed to offer teachers for all public and private schools, which will be available for “high quality, compatible with the curriculum” lesson planning materials.

Teaching tools, including artificial intelligence and other forms of technology, will be made available throughout the country with states responsible for teacher education.

“The academic abilities of the students in any class are wide and teachers are under great pressure to produce quality materials for all.

The research of the Commission stressed the lack of great increase in productivity among small and medium -sized enterprises. The plan to reduce the tax rate to 20 percent will provide the biggest benefits to small companies.

It proposes that the federal government to judge a tax loan system for smaller enterprises that increase the personnel training.

“Australia’s educational rates are low compared to general and other countries. There is a need for policies to support these companies to better educate workers,” he said.
