A five-year-old girl who fell 50 feet from a Disney Cruise ship was asked to pose for a photo in front of an open porthole, according to authorities.

The little girl was traveling with her family on the Disney Dream cruise ship when she lost her footing while standing in front of the porthole. He fell into the open sea, and just 45 seconds later his father dived after him.

Unfounded rumors soon spread that her father had taken her up to the railing to take photos. Florida authorities allege the girl accidentally fell inside after her mother asked her to pose next to the bars.

Three minutes after the girl dived into the sea, a distress call was made and a yellow rescue boat was launched.

Miraculously, the girl did not suffer any serious injuries. His father was later treated for an unspecified problem.

A criminal complaint was filed against the mother, but the incident on June 29 did not amount to “criminal negligence.” As a result, the Florida state attorney declined to file charges. MirrorUSA.

“While the defendant’s conduct was arguably negligent and irresponsible, it does not rise to the level of egregious conduct required to prove criminal culpable negligence,” state prosecutor Melissa Kelly said Sept. 16.

The Broward County sheriff interviewed the parents, and they provided matching accounts that were consistent with the surveillance footage. The case has since been closed.

The mother allegedly told police that her daughter had taken several more photos near the railings throughout the trip.

According to the police report: “He gave me a photo. [the girl] “I’m lying in a porthole with a window on it.”

The mother allegedly said she “felt there should have been covers on the windows” and said “Disney was responsible for what happened.”
