Woman found dead in Kannur

A 48-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the veranda of a beverage shop in Kannur on Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Shelvi of Thottada Samajwadi Colony.

Eyewitnesses said they informed the police when they found Shelvi lying unconscious on the veranda of Parakandy beverage shop. After the incident, relatives and citizens gathered at the scene.

A police team led by Kannur Town Sub-Inspector VV Deepti reached the spot and conducted preliminary investigations.

Police are examining CCTV footage from nearby establishments to trace Shelvi’s movements before her death.

Shelvi’s surviving children are Sanoj and Sajida. The body was taken to another location for autopsy.
