Canadian woman charged after ignoring warnings, illegally crossing US border, and kicking federal agent

A Canadian woman is facing federal charges in the United States after an incident that injured a U.S. border agent at the Peace Arch border crossing in Washington state. The woman was initially denied entry to the U.S. for carrying a marijuana pen, but later crossed into the buffer zone at Peace Arch State Park, according to court documents. In this area, Canadians and Americans can interact legally.

According to the Travel website, the Canadian woman’s name is Lindsay Anne Moffatt.

He currently faces a charge of assault on a police officer and a separate charge of indecent entry stemming from the incident. He is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
Authorities reported that during the incident, the woman shouted obscenities, fought against arrest and kicked the female supervisor in the face, according to the Global News website.

The woman told investigators she met her fiancee to pick up her dog and did not intend to attack anyone, the FBI said.

After being handcuffed and being escorted to a patrol car, he resisted by rolling on the ground and kicking a female supervisor, according to authorities. He told investigators the action was not intentional.
Records indicate the park contains a deep culvert marking the boundary, concrete barriers and numerous signs reading “DO NOT CROSS THE INTERNATIONAL BORDER” warning that violators will be arrested and prosecuted. Despite warnings, authorities say he crossed barriers into the United States.
