UK weather: Wintry weather returns to UK as wind, snow and rain forecast

The cold weather is expected to continue into the weekend, with a few overnight frosts expected in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Daytime temperatures will be slightly below average.

It looks like Saturday will start with cold but sunny weather. Showers will increase in the afternoon, but will not reach everywhere. It is estimated that sunny weather will be more pleasant as the wind decreases

Sunday’s showers appear to be more numerous; there are generally more clouds and wind, so less frost. The chances of these showers turning into winter in the north towards Sunday night increase again.

The cold weather will continue until early next week, at which point the weather will gradually turn slightly milder and temperatures will rise slightly above average for mid-March.

You can check the weather on an hourly basis online or via the BBC Weather app.
