. Rent.fun Website It lists more than 100 automatic machines, but only a handful of Virginia and Hampton roads. Suffolk has a boat rental machines in Constance Wharf and Sleepy Hole Park, and Smithfield’s Windsor Castle Park and York County’s Back Creek Park also has a machine.

In Virginia Beach, the automators, which cost approximately $ 100,000 for all three locations, replaced a cumbersome rental process.

“We made a rental in Munden Point, but this required very intense and cash processing measures,” City Spokesman Ali Weaterton said in an e-mail. “We also had a third -party agreement with a local company in the Stumpy Lake Natural region. It was awarded with this competitive proposal process. This was proven to be inconsistent. Parks and recreation later decided to investigate rental kiosks and found them in a way to comply with all the rental needs for more than one place.”

Automats became a hit.

Since the installation in April 2024, about 900 boats have been rented at Munden Point and Lake Lawson/Lake Smith. The new kiosk in Lake Stumpy has rented more than 500 in the last three months.

And more boats come: There is more to come to Virginia Beach: a new device machine is planned when there is a Bow Creek Rain Road Park Completed at 2026 or 27.
