Celtics fans give Philly fans taste of their own medicine with troll chant during NBA playoffs

There may be no league smaller on this planet than the NBA.

Players, coaches and even fans take great pleasure in the suffering of their opponents and never miss the opportunity to twist the knife when given the opportunity.

That rate is getting higher as the playoffs approach, so this latest instance of fan crankiness should come as no surprise.

To set this up, when the Philadelphia 76ers won their play-in game against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, fans made it clear they were ready for their next opponent, the hated Boston Celtics.

Gotta love the confidence here.

Of course there’s no way this could backfire in any way, shape or form, right?

Getting punked in Game 1 is bad enough, but it’s even crueler to have fans of the currently punking team turn your own troll chants against you.

You know what they say: Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it.

Now, here’s some optimism for all Philly fans out there.

This is only game one, and as lopsided as the score is, your Sixers are currently down just 0-1.

As an added bonus, this was an away loss, so you really only need to win the second game and swing the home field advantage back in your favor.

The series doesn’t start until the away team wins a game!

So keep your chin up. There’s still a lot of basketball to be played.

And if you can somehow miraculously get past the Celtics, I better not hear any of you say, “We want New York.”
