Car drives miles down M1 after losing wheel in high-speed crash | News

A man drove for miles on the M1 after a high-speed crash shook one of his wheels off.
Omar Makhluf, 20, of Keel Close, Barking, was driving a Mercedes Northbound in Buckinghamshire on February 16, 2025, when he collided with the center booking, leaving the front right wheel hanging out of the car.
“I did not drive dangerously,” he later told police after driving several kilometers on the highway.
Makhluf pleaded guilty on Friday, February 6, to one count of dangerous driving and one count of driving while impaired by drugs. He was sentenced to a total of 22 months in prison and disqualified for four years and 336 days for multiple driving offences.
