Caroline Kennedy cradles granddaughter at her daughter Tatiana Schlossberg’s funeral, as doctor widower holds onto their son

Caroline Kennedy held her grandson close as she attended the funeral of her daughter Tatiana Schlossberg, who died of blood cancer at the age of 35.
Tatiana’s husband George Moran, 36, was seen carrying the couple’s son at St Ignatius Loyola Church for the ceremony on Monday.
The 32-year-old looked distraught as she attended the funeral in New York alongside her brother Jack Schlossberg, mother, father Edwin Schlossberg and eldest sister Rose.
The environmental journalist tragically died last Tuesday after a battle with leukemia and just six weeks after making his diagnosis public.
Moran and Tatiana married in 2017 and have two children, a three-year-old son named Edwin and a one-year-old daughter named Josephine.
On Monday, the JFK Library Foundation released a photo of the young family taken just three months before Tatiana’s death.
Tatiana was seen smiling with short hair as she sat in a garden on Martha’s Vineyard surrounded by her husband, young children and pet dog.
The photo was captioned: ‘As we remember Tatiana and celebrate her life, our hearts go out to her family and everyone who loved her.’

Tatiana’s husband George Moran, 36, was also seen carrying their son.
In November, Tatiana revealed in a candid article: New Yorker – published on the 62nd anniversary of her grandfather’s assassination – in which the cancer was discovered after giving birth to Josephine.
In the article, Tatiana praised Moran for his support throughout her treatment, writing: ‘George did everything he could for me.
‘He talked to all the doctors and insurers I didn’t want to talk to; slept on the hospital floor; He didn’t get mad at me when I raged about the steroids and yelled at him that I didn’t like Schweppes ginger ale, I just liked Canada Dry.
‘He would go home to put our kids to bed and come back to bring me dinner. I know not everyone can be married to a doctor, but if you can, it’s a great idea.
‘He’s perfect and I feel so betrayed and so sad that I can’t continue living the wonderful life I have with this kind, funny, handsome genius I found.’
Tatiana was the daughter of former US Ambassador Caroline and designer Schlossberg, JFK’s only surviving child.
She attended Yale for her undergraduate degree, where she met her future husband, Moran, who is now a urologist at Columbia University.
Tatiana later earned a master’s degree in United States history from Oxford University and continued her career as a journalist.

The couple married at the Kennedy compound on Martha’s Vineyard in 2017, with former Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick officiating the ceremony.
They lived in a $7.68 million apartment on New York City’s Upper East Side, but he revealed in the New Yorker article that he spent most of the last year of his life in and out of the hospital.
Tatiana’s cousin, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., was not seen at the ceremony.
Tatiana referred to RFK Jr. as the family’s “shame” in a column she wrote just before her death.
A source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice that his remains were kept for close family and close friends; this includes RFK Jr. not included.
‘RFK Jr will not be invited and the family made this decision deliberately. They’re trying to protect the children and manage their pain without extra public scrutiny or controversy,’ the source said.
