Two months after the previous case, the fear of Nipah in Kerala reappears

The Nipah virus returns to Kerala and creates new fear in the state. In the last Nipah epidemic, 18 -year -old girl from Mangada in Malappuram was treated before shifting to another private hospital in Kozhikode in a private hospital for encephalitis symptoms.

Doctors, staff quarantine

Following the positive test for the Nipah virus of the girl, doctors and health personnel and post -death examinations were quarantined.

The 38 -year -old woman who is currently being treated in Perinhalmanna comes from Thachanattukara on the border of Palakkad region. Regional Medical Officer (DMO) R. Renuka, with the support of the ventilator, he said.

The woman, a three -year -old mother, was initially treated for high fever and related problems before her admission to Perinhalmanna Hospital on July 1 at two hospitals in Karinkallathani and Mannarkkad.

The Minister will hold a meeting of senior health authorities in the afternoon on Friday.
