Central library at Amaravati will reflect AP’s history and culture, says HRD Minister Nara Lokesh

HRD Minister Nara Lokesh on Friday said the proposed State Central Library in Amaravati should stand as a symbol of the rich history and culture of Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing the review meeting with School Education Department officials at his Undavalli residence, Mr. Lokesh examined the design model of the proposed State Central Library building in Amaravati and made suggestions by watching the video presentation prepared by experts on the project.
Mr. Lokesh asked the authorities to develop the Central Library into a world-class information center equipped with modern technological facilities. He said the library should stand as a symbol of the glorious history and heritage of the State.
He said the new facility should include archives and auditorium facilities and provide access to more than 1.5 million books.
Learning outcomes
The meeting also discussed measures to improve academic standards, successful conduct of Class X examinations and development of learning abilities.
After discussing the implementation of Basic Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) program in government schools, use of clicker videos and 100-day action plan for Class He instructed the authorities to take steps to create more awareness about the practice among parents.
Issues related to the use of artificial intelligence teachers in public schools, development work at Nidamarru school, evaluation of Class X exam answer texts and DSC (District Selection Committee) recruitment process were discussed at the meeting.
Education Minister Kona Sasidhar, School Education Commissioner V. Vijaya Rama Raju, Samagra Shiksha State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao and Public Libraries Director Krishna Mohan attended the meeting.
