Centre appoints Abhijat Sheth as new NMC chairperson 

The Birlik Cabinet appointed Abhijat Seth as the new president of the National Medical Commission (NMC), which replaced Suresh Gangadhar due to health concerns.

Dr. Seth said that his priority would be to encourage teamwork to improve the quality of medical education, to promote good management and to achieve government goals.

Former president of NMC Gangadhar presented his resignation last October. Official sources, “the appropriate candidate is not a suitable candidate,” he said.

Dr. Sheth is also the head of the National Sciences Exams Board (NBEMS).
