Bihar Assembly polls: Congress claims people made up their minds for change

“And we witnessed the peak of this in May this year, when an 11-year-old Dalit girl, a victim of brutality, was brought to Patna Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition for treatment. But she was not given a bed in the hospital for eight hours and breathed her last in the ambulance,” Mr. Ramesh said.
He said that the Prime Minister comes, fills his election speeches with false promises, entertains the people a little and leaves.
“He does not even utter a word about the atrocities committed against women. How could he do this when heinous allegations were leveled against ministers in his own government? In 2018, a disgusting and humanity-shattering case came to light in the Muzaffarpur shelter scandal, where more than 34 minor girls were subjected to prolonged sexual abuse,” Ramesh said. he said.
It was stated that the wife of then minister Manju Verma was also involved in the investigation and subsequently resigned.
“However, he was given a ticket in 2020 and now his son has also been nominated as a candidate from the same constituency,” the Congress leader said.
“This month, the half-naked body of a 13-year-old girl was found in the pond behind former minister Manju Verma’s residential complex at Cheria Bariarpur in Begusarai. Early indications suggest that the child was subjected to sexual violence before she was killed,” Ramesh said. he said.
He asked whether the chief minister had any moral right to seek votes from women in the territory of Bihar after so many incidents.
“The people of the state decided for change this time. They decided to topple this government with their votes,” Ramesh said. he said.
Mr. Ramesh’s remarks came after Prime Minister Modi alleged that Congress and RJD leaders had insulted ‘Chhathi Maiyya’ to get votes in the Bihar elections and that the people of the State would not forgive them for centuries.
The statement came a day after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Prime Minister was trying to stir up a “drama” by planning to take a dip in the Yamuna in Delhi on the occasion of Chhath Puja.
