Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was sentenced to plan a coup to stay in power after losing the 2022 elections, a powerful blow to the populist extreme right movement created by the Supreme Court.

The decision of four of the five justice in the Brazilian Supreme Court is convicted of Bolsonaro for attacking democracy in the first former president in the country’s history.
