UK weather maps show where in Britain gets snow right at end of Christmas Day | Weather | News

Parts of the UK will see snow just after Christmas Day, according to the latest weather maps. A white Christmas is rarer than you might think, and some parts of the UK don’t often get snow around December 25th. It looks like we may miss out again this year, but one part of the UK could still get some snow soon after the celebrations, as weather maps show snow hitting a specific corner of the country. December has been a relatively cold month in the UK and wintry conditions are expected to continue until the end of the year.

Snow could fall in parts of England and Wales ahead of Christmas, but current weather maps from forecaster WXCharts show snow in Scotland only at midnight on December 26, just at the end of Christmas Day.

Snow will fall across much of Scotland in the first hour of Boxing Day, according to WXCharts. The affected area is just north of Glasgow and covers multiple counties.

Here are the Scottish counties that will see snow right around the end of Christmas Day, according to WXCharts:

  • Angus’s
  • perthshire
  • invernesshire
  • Small parts of Aberdeenshire

Conditions will be different for the rest of the country. Maps show much of northern England and Wales was hit with rain on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Meanwhile, temperatures on Christmas Day and Boxing Day also vary across the country. Temperatures will reach low levels in Scotland, and freezing temperatures will be experienced in some regions.

However, the situation is much different in the south of England, where temperatures can reach up to 12C in areas such as London. According to current maps for 25 December, temperatures in Wales will be around 9 or 10 degrees.

Separately, the Met Office said temperatures would be generally above normal across the UK ahead of Christmas Day. High pressure from Boxing Day will likely mean drier weather before the end of the year.
