Child rights panel offers training for high school teachers

Kerala State Children’s Rights Commission offered education in various aspects of children’s rights for high school teachers. Commissioner Cicily Joseph opened his training program on Monday, August 18th. Experts taught children’s rights, mental health, artificial intelligence and cyber security.
Education is designed to help teachers identify and address physical and mental problems that affect adolescent students. It aimed to encourage a positive and supportive teacher-student relationship, to integrate evidence-based practices from education and psychological theories into the school environment and to enable students to effectively manage the physical, mental and emotional difficulties.
The training also tried to train the participants on the importance of social media literacy, secure internet applications and cyber security measures.
The first stage of education is given to teachers in Kozhikode, Kasaragod, Kannur, Malack, Wayanad, Palakkad and Thrissur. The training program was launched at Kozhikode on 11 August and will end with a session in Thrissur on August 20.
Trained teachers will be responsible for the spread of awareness among other teachers and students in 8, 9 and 10 in their schools.
Deputy Director PV Rafek was chaired. Regional Women and Child Development Responsible Gopakumar, Children’s Rights Commission Member B. Mohan Kumar and Wayadad Regional Child Protection Officer Shajida attended.
