Children hurt as roof of school bus ripped off by Coppull bridge

Many children were injured when the roof of a double-decker school bus crashed into a low bridge and broke off.
Among the injured was an eight-year-old boy who was taken to hospital with “non-serious” head injuries following the crash on Spending Road, Coppull, Lancashire, at around 12.30pm local time.
Medical teams examined the children at the scene.
Lancashire Police said: “A number of children have been injured and are thankfully thought to be relatively minor at this time.” Police said emergency services remained at the scene and the road was closed.
