Multiple people stabbed on train as terrified passengers are forced to hide in toilet during knife rampage

Eyewitnesses said that train passengers, who were terrified because many people were stabbed in the knife attack, had to hide in the toilet.

Armed officers rushed to the London North Eastern Railway (LNER) train after reports of multiple stabbings were reported at around 7.39pm.

Two men were arrested and several people were taken to hospital after the train stopped in Huntingdon.

Eyewitnesses told The Times that travelers hid in toilets because a suspect was carrying a ‘large knife’ during the attack.

The attack is believed to have started shortly after the LNER train left Peterborough station.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary said the A1307 motorway towards the city center was closed due to the ongoing incident.

Train operator LNER said disruption was ‘expected until the end of the day’ and advised travelers to check ahead before making their journey.

Local Labor councilor Alex Bulat expressed his sympathy for those affected by the ongoing reports.

‘Really worrying,’ he wrote on Facebook. ‘My thoughts are with the victims and their families.’
