China’s Ambassador of India, Xu Feihong, made a strong speech at the Chinese Embassy in the New Delhi on Monday and emphasized the spirit of permanent cooperation between India and China.

Speaking at a seminar that commemorates the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance against the Japanese aggression of the Chinese people, Ambassador Xu emphasized the importance of deepening binary bonds in the midst of a rapidly changing global landscape.

“China-India relations have experienced bending and turns, but friendly cooperation has always been a dominant theme,” Ambassador XU said. Reflecting the theme of the seminar, the Ambassador Xu said, “Today, we hold this seminar with deep respect for history, deep memory of fallen heroes and control of peace.” He said. He emphasized the lessons of the past and the common responsibilities of today in the protection of peace.

Accepting global challenges, “changes that have not been seen in a century are accelerating, uniformity and bullying actions are increasing, and the world has entered a new turbulence and transformation period.” Against this background, “Humanity once again faces a choice between peace and war, dialogue and confrontation, win-win cooperation and zero-total game.”

Emphasizing the wider role of both countries, Ambassador XU said, “China is ready to work with global southern countries, including India to encourage a correct view of the history of World War II, to implement real multilateral and to firmly opposes hegemony and power policies.” He said.

By closing with a hopeful note, “History cannot change, but the future can be shaped. Let’s take lessons from history, take the great spirit of the resistance warfare and encourage China-India friendship and cooperation with a more proactive attitude.”
